Who Receives a News Post When Sent as an Email Copy

News posts are a powerful communication tool because you can send an email copy to the users who can access the news post. If the news post is created in an umbrella portal, it can be sent to a larger group of users. See below for an explanation of who will receive the email based on where the news post is created and who the news post is made available to.

Organization Portal

  • Visible to anyone: Email copy sent to all users in the portal.
  • Visible to all people in the community: Email copy sent to all users in the portal.
  • Visible only to people in the portal: Email copy sent to all users in the portal.
  • Visible only to selected groups in the portal: Email copy sent only to users in the groups you've selected.

Umbrella Portal

  • Visible to anyone and posted in all organizations: Email copy sent to umbrella members and all users in portals under the umbrella.
  • Visible to all people in the community: Email copy sent to umbrella members and all users in portals under the umbrella.
  • Visible to people in the umbrella portal and posted in all orgs: Email copy sent to umbrella members and all users in portals under the umbrella.
  • Visible to people in the umbrella portal and posted in selected orgs: Email copy sent to umbrella members and all users in the portals you selected.
  • Visible only to people in the umbrella portal: Email copy sent only to umbrella members.
